Jan Enns is a communications expert who brings 25 years leadership and experience to her work with local governments, public and private companies. After working for the Capri Hotel, ICBC, the Regional District of Central Okanagan, and Interior Health, Jan founded Jan Enns Communications to provide strategic direction for both public and private sector organizations. Putting her expertise into action, Jan has raised awareness and public participation through a variety of innovative and interactive programs from recycling to referendums to wineries!
Jan is a sought-after speaker, providing lively, interactive keynotes and workshops for provincial and regional conferences. Recent conferences include the Local Government Leadership Academy, Government Finance Officers Association and FortisBC. She speaks at BC’s Local Government Management Association’s Municipal Administrative Training Institute (MATI) and taught Citizen Engagement and Consultation for the University of Alberta’s National Advanced Certificate for Local Authority Administration.
Jan specializes in web-based training for the public sector across North America, as a founding partner of the E-learning education series in partnership with BC’s Local Government Management Association and the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators.
Jan has a Masters in Applied Communications from Royal Roads University, a certificate in Local Government Administration from Capilano College, and certificates in Planning and Techniques for Public Participation. She is an active member in various community and professional committees, including the Okanagan Communicators Network, the International Association of Business Communicators and the International Association of Public Participation.
